Serial ATA iinterface technology is designed to efficiently provide high-speed data transfer for workstations, sub-entry servers and networked storage systems where cost is a primary concern. This technology is rapidly replacing the decade-old IDE interface.
Serial ATA also improves the system airflow by using much slimmer cabling, simplifying connection between the host controller and the data storage devices. Devices can be hot-swapped without shutting down or re-starting the system. The interconnects and cables are low cost and have built-in RAID support.
Selectronix is committed to supplying the full range of host and device connectors from Circuit Assembly, together with complementary cabling.
